Rosemary Williams Ockerman, 97 of Beaverton, Oregon passed away peacefully in her home following a long life well lived on September 17, 2022.
Rosemary was born August 12, 1925 in Oakland, California to David and Luciele Williams. She was educated in Oakland schools and graduated from San Francisco State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education in 1950.
Rosemary became Mrs. Ockerman when she married Donald Angelo Ockerman on July 17, 1949. She was his life companion and travel partner until his death on September 17, 2015. They lived the majority of their married life in their home in Hillsborough, California and retired to Marina, California. In 2016, following the death of her husband, Rosemary relocated to Beaverton, Oregon and resided in an assisted living community until her death.
Mrs. Ockerman divided her professional life teaching elementary and adult ESL for 52 years in San Francisco Unified and San Mateo Unified School Districts. She was an active supporter of many causes including Children’s Home Society of California, Peninsula Symphony Auxiliary, Democratic National Committee and the Girl Scouts of America. Her entire life was devoted to causes supporting the needs of children and community enrichment.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Paula Ockerman; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Greg Moore; three granddaughters, Jody, Emily & Shannon; and many extended family members and friends.
A private graveside service will be held at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park on Monday September 26, 2022 with internment directly to follow.
