Phelon E. Cullison, Jr., age 86, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 25, 2019, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Portland, Oregon. He was born June 2, 1933 in Bend, Oregon to Phelon E. Cullison, Jr. and Alta G. Cullison. He attended Bend High School where he was a Quarter Back on the Bend Football Team. He played the trumpet for the High School Band. After the Military Service in Germany, Phelon married Ursula Werle in Portland. They had three children together, Dennis, Gary and Anita. He was a loving husband and father, enjoying many years with his family.
Phelon attended Forest Grove Optometry School, advanced to OHSU to study dentistry and then decided that was not for him. He was a member of Delta Alpha Chapter of Theta Chi Fraternity. Several years he worked as a Life Insurance and Mutual Fund Consultant. People liked him a lot and Ed made interesting conversation. He was very generous in helping daily his friend that lost both legs and later the friend’s wife with their needs until they passed.
Photography and traveling were his great hobbies.
His Brother, Bruce M. Cullison, pre-deceased him.
Ed is survived by his wife, Ursula; son Dennis and wife Sofia, son Gary and wife Doris, daughter Anita and husband Lee, grandson Troy and wife Marissa, niece and nephews. We loved him very much and miss him a lot.
