JEANNE CLAIRE HUEFFNER

1921 - 2019

Jeanne was born on January 3, 1921, in Cassville, Wisconsin to Frederick and Felicia Mink. She was raised in Cassville and graduated from Cassville High School in 1938. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1943 and her Master of Science in Teaching degree from Drake University in 1970.

On June 23, 1943, she was married to Ernest L. Hueffner in Starkville, Mississippi. The family lived in Pennsylvania, Utah, and Wisconsin. They moved to Grinnell, Iowa in 1960 and after her husband passed away she moved to North Richland Hills, TX in 2015. She taught school in Gilman and Semco, Iowa from 1970 to 1985.

Jeanne was a member of the Grinnell Christian Church and attended the Compass Church in Colleyville, TX. She was a member of the Junior League in Racine, Wisconsin and volunteered at the library. Jeanne was always the happiest when she was spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed traveling and a good book. She did have a sweet tooth and you could always find a container of chocolate ice cream in the freezer.

She is survived by one brother, William Mink of Portland, Oregon; four daughters Katharine Peters of North Richland Hills, TX; Sally (William) Long of Scottsdale, Arizona; Elizabeth (Richard) Beal of Modesto, CA and Debra (Padro) Weisleder of Dublin, OH; one son William (Marina) Hueffner of Portland, OR, 11 grandchildren; Cristine (David) Toney, David (Ninotchka) Peters, Jenny (Reed) Veralrud, Robert Long, Timothy Long, Christopher (Tessa) Beal, David (Carla) Beal, Anastasia Hueffner, Catherine Hueffner, Alexandra Hueffner, Joshua Weisleder; and 15 great grandchildren, Rachel (Corey) Guymon, Renee (Jeff) Bookhout, Douglas Peters, Grant Peters, Alexandra Perna, Cameron Perna, Boden Beal, Blake Beal, Brooke Beal, Josh Beal, Alexandra Beal, Paul Beal, Austin Long, William Long, and Zachery Long.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest L. Hueffner, parents Frederick Mink and Felicia Kleinpell Mink, her son Robert William Hueffner, her son-in-law Terry Peters and great granddaughter Bailey Beal.

A grave side service will be held at Mound Cemetery in Racine, Wisconsin. Memorials may be directed to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
