Ghislaine Danielle 'Dani' Calkins

Ghislaine Danielle 'Dani' Calkins, 70 of Hillsboro, Oregon. passed away peacefully on April 20, 2017 from Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease. Dani was born to Ghislaine (Geri) Cech and Ed Hruby on September 29, 1946 in Portland Oregon. Dani had five brothers and one sister.

Following graduation from Tigard High School in 1964, Dani began employment at the downtown Portland branch of First National Bank. After forty years of service, Dani retired from the bank at which time she was a Vice President for commercial loans technical support. Dani made many friends during her career and continued to cultivate those relationships long into retirement. In 1970, Dani married Mike Calkins; following a long separation, the couple amicably divorced in 2000.

Dani enjoyed gardening, bird watching, camping, traveling, spending time with her cats and dog and being with family and friends. During her career, Dani was a member of the American Business Women's Association. In her retirement years, she was a member of the Aloha American Legion Post No 104. Her involvement in these organizations resulted in many lasting friendships.

Dani is survived by her brothers, Denny, Dwayne, Mike, Mark, Brent and her sister, Merrily.

A celebration of life service will be held for Dani and her Mother, Geri (see obituary athttp://www.springerandson.com) at the Sherwood Elks, 22770 SW Elwert Rd, Sherwood, OR 97140 on May 13, 2017 at 11:00 am - 1:00 pm.
