Larry Eugene Enslin, 75, a resident of the Hillsboro community died May 31, 2010 at the Veterans Hospital in Portland, OR.

 

Private services will be held at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, OR

Larry was born on September 11, 1934 in Salem, OR. He was one of five children born to John and Charlotte (Smith) Enslin. He was raised and received his education in the Salem area having graduated with the Class of 1954.

 

He served his country in the Civil Air Patrol in 1953 and the US Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1957.

 

Larry had worked all of his life as a laborer. He had worked for Boeing for a short time

while living in Seattle, WA. While living in Salem, OR Larry as a driver and farm hand. He retired due to a disability and had moved to Hillsboro in 2000.

 

Among his interest he enjoyed writing children’s books and mystery stories. He was also an avid tennis fan as well as an accomplished chess player. Larry was a very private person who enjoyed the solitude of fishing and wood working.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents, three siblings; Robert and George Enslin and Betty Briggs. Survivors include his sister; Patricia Rigg of Puyallup, WA and eleven nieces and nephews.
