Kenneth "Ken" Wayne Stubbs, resident of Portland passed away February 2, 2018 at the age of 81. He was born to Gerald and Jenny Stubbs (Estlund) in Lewiston, Idaho and spent most of his growing up years in Oakland, California where he graduated from Oakland Technical School in 1954. He lived several years in the bay area and later relocated to Portland, Oregon in the mid 60's.

He is survived by his siblings, Norma Frechin, Donald Stubbs, Ray Stubbs, Shirley Richardson, Sandra Mullin, and half sibling twins, Dee Dee Mahoney and Gerald Stubbs. He is preceded by his parents his stepmother Peg Stubbs and brother Richard Stubbs.

A 21-year marriage to Glenna French began in July 1956. They raised four children; Kenna (Lee) Bettelyoun, Laura (Larry) Jackson, Alan Stubbs and Valerie (Leon) Anderson. He is survived by this family along with 7 grandchildren; Ryan, Kenneth, Kalea, Leilani, Kylan, Danniele, Christopher and 4 great-grandchildren.

September of 1986, Ken married Anna Regan and blended his family with her two children; Dan (Roni) Regan and Tricia (Tim) Malme. He is also survived by this family adding another 6 grandchildren; Aaron, Braden, Emily, Nolan, Samantha, Daniel and 2 great-grandchildren. Ken and Anna were married 31 years up until his passing.

Ken was friendly from the moment he was born. As a small child he would sit on the stoop and greet all passers-by. Ken enjoyed people, fishing, camping, boating, water-skiing, sports and theater. Most of all he loved being with his family, always looking forward to the next large family gathering. These consisted of many camping trips to favorite spots, such as Orowood, Ko-Ket Resort, and Burney Falls. He enjoyed cooking for everyone and everyone enjoyed his cooking as he was an excellent cook.

He was always happy helping family and friends. Projects included, electrical work, carpentry, plumbing, auto repairs and Master Gardener displays. He was a jack of all trades and a master of most. He loved tools and tinkering with them. There wasn't anything he couldn't fix.

He played table tennis at Paddle Palace for several years where he was on the Portland All Star team who played an exhibition with the champion ping pong team from Taiwan, Republic of China, in 1971. He also was the Kaiser Aircraft Table Tennis Champion in 1955.

Professionally Ken was an engineer. This came naturally to him and allowed him to apply many of his God given talents. His work career included time with Lloyd Enterprises, Kaiser Aircraft, Varian Associates, Marco, ADEC and Oregon Graduate Center. This eventually lead him to become an entrepreneur of his own company, Adcoa Inc., in partnership with long-time associates. The company was sold in 2007 when he retired and continues to be a successful business today.

A couple memorable work events include a time when he was part of a crew that flew on a B-52 with the doors wide open to collect the parachutes with air samples attached. On one occasion he and the crew came face to face with the side of a mountain and found themselves having to make a quick assent to avoid a collision while hanging on for dear life, thank goodness for the harnesses! In his early years he worked on the first two-sided (see through) television well before it's time. During his Adcoa years he helped develop two patents both pertaining to the dental industry.

He was known as a very strong man and proved this over and over to include his last days.
